Alerts are diverted to an email address from another network. The monitoring software and the email address are monitored on a 24/7 basis. When they receive any alert, action is taken within 5-10 minutes of the receipt of the alert. Based on the issue severance, next action is taken.

Depending upon the type of issue, some may require simple restarting of the server whereas some might need some server tweaking. In case of a critical issue like a load spike or a DDOS attack, server tweaking must be done. It is ensured the server or the service is active in the monitoring software. If the server is down, the root cause is traced and then the team determines if that is something they can resolve. If it is out of their scope, they escalate it to the data center or any next level team.

Server Security:

Servers are audited regularly on a scheduled basis. This is done primarily to check for any security malfunctioning of the server. Actions performed by the techs in order to harden the server consist of modifying the Kernel settings, securing host.conf, installing chkrootkit and setting up cron, installing logcheck, installing APF/CSF – firewalls on the server to block the IPs/Ports etc., A monthly report is sent for the records.

ACTSupport provides a proactive server support by monitoring your server 24/7. As and when the updates are released, the patches are installed. Despite of all these efforts, if the security is compromised, we restore the server from the backup. We do not provide ticket support under this plan.
